Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers. No fluff.

The questions I get on every discovery call — about diabetes safety, what coaching actually includes, the faith piece, refunds, and whether this works for someone starting from real damage. If your question isn’t here, ask it on the call or in the contact form.

Section 01

The Coaching Itself

How is this different from Noom, Planet Fitness, MyFitnessPal, or a free YouTube workout?

An app can’t notice when you’ve gone quiet for nine days. A gym membership doesn’t know your A1C just spiked. A YouTube workout doesn’t care if you’ve been carrying something heavy that you haven’t told anyone about. Kingdom X Fitness is a coach — a real human who responds to your check-ins, watches your form videos, adjusts your program when your body responds, and shows up when you don’t. Most clients who come to me have tried all four of those and quit within weeks. The reason wasn’t motivation. It was that nothing held them accountable or felt built for someone starting from real damage.

What does coaching actually include each week?

Every tier gives you a custom program in Trainerize (workouts loaded with video demos), general nutrition guidance, and messaging access. On Standard you get a weekly check-in with a video response from me, form review on lifts you submit, and progress tracking on measurements, photos, and strength. On Premium you add a weekly 30-minute video or phone call, priority response times, and dedicated mindset/discipline work. The full breakdown by tier is on the services page.

Do I need a gym?

No. I program for the equipment you actually have. A lot of my clients start at home with bodyweight, a couple of dumbbells, and a band. We add equipment when your training calls for it — not before. If you have a full gym, great. If you have a hotel room, I’ll write the session for the hotel room.

How fast will I see results?

Honest answer: discipline shows up before the scale does. Most clients feel different in 2–3 weeks (sleep, energy, mood, blood sugar stability). Visible body change shows up around weeks 6–12 with consistent execution. A1C improvements for diabetic clients typically show on the next 90-day lab pull. This is a comeback, not a 30-day challenge — if a coach is promising you a transformation in three weeks, they’re selling, not coaching.

What if I’ve failed at every fitness program I’ve ever started?

Most of my clients have. That’s the room I’m built for. The reason most programs fail isn’t willpower — it’s that they were built for someone who already had the rhythm. We start at the actual starting line. Two workouts a week. A walk you can finish. One protein target. We earn the right to add the next thing. That’s how I came back from a hospital bed, and that’s how we build it for you.

How much time per week do I need?

Three to four hours a week of actual training is the floor for real results — spread across three or four sessions. Add 10–15 minutes a day for tracking, your check-in, and Kingdom mindset work. If your week is genuinely 90 minutes and that’s it, tell me on the discovery call and I’ll tell you honestly whether coaching is the right move right now or whether the Kingdom Reset challenge is a better starting point.

How do we communicate?

Inside Trainerize (messaging + program), with weekly check-ins by video on Standard and weekly calls on Premium. There’s also a private community where clients support each other — not a feed of strangers, a small unit. I respond during business hours; Premium gets priority within hours. I do not respond at 2 a.m. — one of the lessons from the hospital was that I’m no good to anyone if I don’t sleep.

Section 02

Diabetes, Chronic Conditions & Safety

38.4 million Americans have diabetes. Most fitness coaches will not touch this conversation. I will — with the right boundaries.

Can I do this if I have Type 2 diabetes?

Yes — and a large share of my client base is exactly there. I program with blood sugar in mind: timing of training, intensity progressions, nutrition guidance that respects glycemic load, and a check-in cadence that watches A1C trends with your physician. I’ve managed my own diabetes alongside the rest of the comeback, so this isn’t theory for me.

Are you my doctor?

No. I am a certified personal trainer and Marine Corps veteran. I am not a physician, a registered dietitian, or a licensed mental health provider. Every client signs a PAR-Q health questionnaire and a liability waiver before we start. If you’re managing a chronic condition, you keep your physician in the loop — I work alongside your medical care, not in place of it.

Will you write me a meal plan?

No — and any coach who isn’t a Registered Dietitian and tells you they will is operating outside their lane. What I provide is general nutrition guidance: protein targets, food quality principles, diabetes-aware swaps, and grocery frameworks. If you need a prescribed meal plan (especially for medical reasons), I’ll refer you to an RD and we’ll run the training side together.

What about trauma, depression, or mental health?

The mindset side of coaching is real — discipline, identity, the cycle of shame and restart, the quiet weight a lot of my clients carry. That is coaching. It is not therapy. If you’re in active mental health crisis, working with a licensed counselor is the right move and I will say that plainly on the discovery call. For a lot of clients, both run in parallel: their therapist handles the clinical work, I handle the behavior change and the physical rebuild. That partnership is the strongest setup I’ve seen.

I’m a veteran with service-connected injuries. Can you work with me?

Yes. Marine here — I understand the operator you used to be and the wear on the body you’re carrying now. Programming respects the joints, the back, the shoulder that doesn’t move the way it used to. We rebuild the operator, not chase an aesthetic. Bring your VA care team into the loop and we’ll work alongside them.

Section 03

Pricing, Billing & Refunds

What does it cost?

Basic is $150/month. Standard is $200–$250/month and is what I recommend to most clients. Premium is $300/month. Group cohorts run $40–$80/month depending on the program. The first 10 founding clients lock in $125/month for 6 months in exchange for testimonials and feedback. Full breakdown on the pricing page.

How does billing work?

Stripe, monthly, on the anniversary of your start date. You get an emailed receipt. No surprise charges, no annual lock-in for the standard tiers, and no buried auto-upgrades. Founding-client rates are locked for 6 months at the discounted price.

Can I cancel? What’s the refund policy?

You can cancel at any time. Cancellation stops the next billing cycle — you keep access through the end of the cycle you’ve already paid for. I don’t refund partial months, because the program design, onboarding video, and first-week coaching are front-loaded work that’s already done. If something has gone wrong on my end, tell me on a call — I’d rather fix it than lose you, and I’ll handle exceptions case-by-case.

Can I pause if life blows up?

Yes. Surgery, family emergency, deployment, hospitalization — life happens. Standard and Premium clients can pause once per 6 months for up to 30 days without losing their rate. Tell me what’s going on and we’ll handle it like adults.

Can I upgrade or downgrade tiers?

Yes. Most clients start on Basic or Standard and move up as their schedule and goals shift. Changes take effect on your next billing cycle. There’s no penalty for downgrading — the goal is to keep you in the work, not lock you into a tier that no longer fits.

Do you offer payment plans or split payments?

All standard tiers are already month-to-month, which functions as the payment plan. For longer programs (the Comeback Blueprint course or group cohorts), I can offer two-payment splits through Stripe on request. Ask on the discovery call.

How does the “Bring a Brother or Sister” referral work?

If you refer someone who signs up for coaching, you get a free month on your next billing cycle and they get 20% off their first month. You’ll get a trackable referral link inside the client community when you join.

Section 04

Is This Built For Me?

Do I have to be a Christian or faith-driven for this to work?

No. Kingdom X Fitness is faith-anchored — that’s the foundation I coach from — but the coaching itself works for anyone serious about doing the work. I use scripture and Kingdom language where it earns its place, not as a sermon. Clients who don’t share the faith still get the discipline, the structure, the accountability, and the comeback methodology. If that’s a dealbreaker either way, say so on the discovery call and we’ll be honest about fit.

Do you work with women?

Yes. The audience leans toward men — veterans, faith-driven guys carrying chronic conditions they don’t talk about — but the methodology works for adults 28–55 who are rebuilding from a setback, regardless of gender. Several of the strongest comeback stories on the transformations page are women.

I’m over 55. Am I too old for this?

No. The 28–55 range is who I primarily build content for, but I’ve coached clients into their 60s and 70s. The program respects where your joints, recovery, and history actually are. Bring your physician into the loop and we’ll build something honest.

I’m not in the U.S. Can you still coach me?

Yes — coaching is delivered online through Trainerize, so location doesn’t matter as long as you have a phone and can be on a call. Check-ins and video calls schedule across time zones. The vast majority of my client base is in the U.S., but the system works anywhere.

Who is this not for?

If you’re looking for a 30-day shred, a coach who’ll yell at you, or someone to hand you a magic supplement stack — that’s not me. If you’re in active medical crisis without a care team, get that team in place first. If you want a vending-machine app experience with no human accountability, you’d be happier somewhere else. I’m built for the person who’s been knocked down by something real and is finally ready to climb back.

What happens on the discovery call?

30 minutes, free, on Zoom. You fill out a short pre-call intake first — current struggle, what you’ve tried, why now, any health flags. The first 15 minutes on the call is you talking. I listen. Then I tell you honestly whether coaching is the right move, and if so, which tier matches where you actually are. No pressure close. If you need 24 hours to think, you get 24 hours.

My question isn’t here. What do I do?

Send it through the contact form or bring it to the discovery call. I’d rather answer your real question than guess at it.

Still On The Fence

The discovery call is free. The decision is yours.

If you’ve read this far, you’re probably the person I built this for. Book the call. Worst case, you get 30 minutes of clarity on what’s actually keeping you stuck.
